What else do you do in Sydney on New Year's Eve apart from watch the fireworks? I had a wonderful evening without having to fight the crowds or camp out for six hours to get the perfect view. It started with a casual drink with friends in the afternoon, dinner at home, watching the Darling Harbour fireworks at 9pm and then over to Potts Point for midnight.
I was lucky enough to be invited to the rooftop of a friends apartment building where we had sweeping views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. It was perfect and we only went up to the roof fifteen minutes before the fireworks were due to start!
I hope you like the video with my shaky camera work.
wow great view. so jealous! i only got to see the fireworks very briefly on tv :-) at least i have your video to watch now. pretty amazing this year. there goes all our tax money i guess ;-)
ReplyDeleteLucky to have a flat in a good position. My brother had a flat near the river in London a few years ago. Good for taking a glass down in time for midnight!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the video Richard! And that is one awesome view for an apartment rooftop. This is the first I've seen of the fireworks, didn't catch any of it on TV in any news coverage either. I actually spend new years eve at church attending midnight mass with Ryan this year. It was quite a spiritual way to bring in the new year =)
ReplyDelete@Angie - you're the second person that has told me they spent New Years Eve in church. I knew that midnight mass on Christmas Eve was popular, but spending NYE at church is new to me.
