Thank you to Ed for getting me a ticket for the England v Germany game on Wednesday night. I was looking forward to it for two reasons. I've wanted to visit the new Wembley stadium since it opened and I haven't seen a live game of football in a long time.
The stadium lived up to expectations. Even from up in the eves there was a fantastic view. The facilities were good and it was efficient to get in and out of the stadium. Sadly the football didn't live up to it's half of the bargain and England slumped to a miserable 2-1 defeat.
A comical part of the evening was when the German fans were singing in English Football's coming home and You only sing when you're winning, mocking the English fans. Could the English fans sing in unison in a foreign language?
Credit to the Police who managed the crowds discreetly but efficiently, especially as 70,000 people queued to get back into Wembley Park tube station after the game. I was astonished at how well the Police Horses are trained and can effectively guide the crowds.
